RUNNING GAIT & STRENGTH ASSESSMENT
Understand How You Run. Know What to Work On.
You don’t need to be injured to benefit from a physical therapist’s assessment of your running.
Your Running Gait & Strength Assessment takes a deeper look at how you run, your running-specific strength, and your mobility to identify areas that may be limiting your performance or worth improving.
You’ll leave knowing what we found, what matters, and exactly what to work on.
MORE THAN JUST A GAIT ANALYSIS
Watching you run is only part of the assessment.
Your running gait gives us valuable information about how you move, but it doesn’t always tell us why you move that way.
That’s why your assessment combines video gait analysis with a running-specific strength and mobility assessment.
We’ll look at your running mechanics, single-leg strength, mobility, and side-to-side differences to get a more complete picture of you as a runner.
The goal isn’t to find something “wrong” with the way you run. It’s to identify what’s actually relevant and give you practical ways to improve it.

You do not need to be injured.

What’s included?
Running Gait Analysis
We’ll use video to assess your running mechanics and identify movement patterns that may be relevant to your running.
The goal isn’t to force you into a “perfect” running form. We’ll determine whether what we see actually matters and whether changing it would benefit you.
Running-Specific Strength Assessment
We’ll assess strength where it matters for running.
This includes single-leg strength, stability, muscular control, and side-to-side differences that may not show up during traditional strength testing.
Mobility Assessment
We’ll assess relevant mobility and range of motion to determine whether any limitations may be influencing your running mechanics.
Personalized Recommendations
We’ll put everything together so you understand what we found and, more importantly, what you should actually do about it.
Individualized Exercises
You’ll receive exercises selected specifically for your findings and goals — not a generic runner strength program.
Running Form Recommendations
If we identify an aspect of your running form that would benefit from modification, you’ll receive specific recommendations for working on it.
You’ll Leave With a Plan
We’ll put everything together so you know what matters, what to work on, and how to work on it. You’ll leave with clear priorities, personalized exercises, and specific next steps based on your assessment.

2011 Washington Cross Country Team State Champion
I started my running journey as a complete beginner as a sophomore in high school and eventually worked my way up to a Division I scholarship. Since then, I’ve had to start from scratch three different times, giving me firsthand experience with nearly every stage of the running journey.
My experience includes serving as an assistant cross country and track coach at Heritage High School, where I developed the team’s strength and conditioning program, coaching with Revolution Running’s adult marathon group, and working one-on-one with runners pursuing goals including Boston Marathon qualifying times.
I’ve also experienced my share of running injuries. Those experiences, combined with my background as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, have shaped how I assess runners today. I look beyond running form alone to understand how strength, mobility, and movement all come together—and help runners identify what’s actually worth working on.
