Physical Therapy for Runners in Denver
RUNNING INJURIES REQUIRE MORE THAN JUST GETTING OUT OF PAIN.
Running-focused physical therapy designed to identify what's contributing to your injury, keep you running when possible, and build you back to the training you want to do.
WHY RUNNERS NEED DIFFERENT PHYSICAL THERAPY
Getting back to walking, stairs, and everyday activities isn't the same as getting back to running.
Your treatment considers the demands that actually matter to you—running mechanics, strength, mobility, training load, mileage, intensity, terrain, and your goals. When appropriate, we'll keep running in your program rather than automatically taking it away.
RUNNING INJURIES WE TREAT
Knee Pain • Runner's Knee • IT Band Pain
Shin Splints • Achilles Pain • Plantar Fasciitis
Foot & Ankle Pain • Hip Pain • Hamstring Injuries
Calf Injuries • Stress Injuries
Whether pain started suddenly or gradually built as your training increased, treatment is based on what's contributing to your symptoms—not just where you hurt.
WE LOOK BEYOND WHERE IT HURTS
Your Injury — Understand your symptoms and what aggravates them.
Strength — Identify strength deficits relevant to running.
Mobility — Assess whether mobility is affecting how you move.
Running Mechanics — Evaluate your gait when it's relevant to your injury.
Training Load — Look at mileage, intensity, terrain and recent training changes.
Your Goals — Build treatment around the running you're actually trying to return to.
Evaluate
Identify the factors contributing to your injury through a running-specific assessment of your symptoms, strength, mobility, training, and running mechanics when appropriate.
KEEP RUNNING WHEN POSSIBLE
Rest isn't automatically the answer. When it's appropriate to continue running, we'll establish clear guidelines for how much, how often, and how hard you should run.
Rebuild
Use targeted strength, mobility, and other treatment strategies to address the factors identified during your evaluation.
PROGRESS YOUR RUNNING
Gradually rebuild mileage, intensity, hills, speed, and other demands until you're prepared for your normal training and goals.

FAQ
-
Often, yes. Stopping running isn't automatically the answer. We'll determine what you can safely tolerate and, when appropriate, establish guidelines for your mileage, frequency, and intensity while we address the factors contributing to your injury.
-
Your evaluation looks at your symptoms, injury history, running-specific strength and mobility, past and current training, and your running goals. We’ll use what we find to identify the factors contributing to your injury, begin treatment, and build a plan to get you back to the running your best.
-
Stride treats a wide range of running injuries, including knee pain, runner's knee, IT band pain, shin splints, Achilles pain, plantar fasciitis, foot and ankle pain, hip pain, hamstring and calf injuries, and stress-related injuries.
-
We do not have a physical location, instead we come to you. Whether it be your house, work or local track, we make it easy and build your treatment around your equipment.
-
No. Colorado allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can schedule an evaluation with Stride without a physician referral.
-
Stride does not bill insurance directly. Insurance-based care can come with restrictions on visits and covered services that don't always align with what a runner needs to fully return to training. Our model allows us to focus on your goals and build your care around what you actually need.
Also, they have certain requirements like need for progress at all times and can set limits on the number of visits you can receive. This would therefore not cover our goal-met guarantee.
By operating outside the insurance system, I can focus entirely on what’s best for you, not what’s reimbursable. This approach ensures we spend our time addressing your goals, not jumping through administrative hoops.
However, I can still accept HSA and FSA or provide you with a superbill (an itemized receipt) that you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. I encourage you to check with your provider to understand your coverage.
If you have additional questions, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to help!

-
Yes. We can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement varies by insurance plan and is not guaranteed.
